Kirkinriola pupil wins Anti-Bullying Week competition

JACK Heron, a P7 pupil at Kirkinriola Primary School, has been awarded first place for his entry in the Anti-Bullying Week 2012 creative writing competition.

Themed on ‘Everybody is Somebody’, the competition invited schoolchildren to enter a piece of art work or creative writing.

Acting principal of Kirkinriola PS, Mrs Valerie Beatty said she and everyone at the school was delighted to hear on Thursday that Jack’s creative story had taken first place in the intermediate category.

“We are absolutely delighted for Jack and very proud of him, especially since he won through in a category which had much older children competing too.

“He will now go to the Anti-Bullying Forum Prize-giving and Launch at the Titanic Quarter on Thursday, November 20, to receive his prize”.

At the event Jack will receive a goodie bag and £50 worth of shopping vouchers and also £100 for his school.
