Rev. Patricia McBride B.Ed. B.D., the minister of the Church, welcomed all present, Masons and friends. Praise was led by the Church Choir who sang delightful pieces, ‘Song of Joy’ as an introit, ‘O give thanks’ and ‘Beautiful words of Jesus’ They were ably trained and accompanied by the church organist Mrs Audrey Small. Canon George N. Little gave a very appropriate and thoughtful address.

During the collection Rev. McBride played a beautiful rendition of ‘Amazing Grace’ on the flute, accompanied by Mrs Audrey Small. The collection was in aid of Crohns & Colitis UK, a complaint which affects as many as 600,000 people in the UK to varying degrees, There is no definite known cause, just a number of triggers, there is no known cure although symptoms can be alleviated by surgery, medication and diet.

The readings were taken by R.W. Bro. Richard Gray, the Provincial Grand Master of the Province of Down, R.E. Companion Neil A. Coey, the District Deputy Grand King of Down and V. E. Sir Kt. Ian Gibbons, the Scribe of the host Council, No. 11, Iveagh of Rathfriland.

This was a unique occasion as a hosting Council has never before invited the other three Masonic disciplines to their commemoration service, The Craft, the Royal Arch Chapter and the Knight Templars were all present. There was a great turnout for the event and all retired to a sumptuous meal provided by the ‘Linen Hall’ of the Outlet complex.
