Knitted Knockers fun run planned

Local charity group Knitted Knockers is holding a fun run in Lurgan Park on April 8 at 2pm.

Knitted Knockers of Northern Ireland wish to thank the ladies of Donaghcloney Rural Craft Group for their kind donation which enabled them to buy 25 balls of wool, supplying 50 knitted knockers. They also generously donated fabrics for the comfort cushions, a project which the group will be working closely with them on. The group started in July last year, and their volunteer knitters have helped deliver 320 personal orders to breast cancer survivors as well as delivering Kto Breast Clinics, some GPs, Bra fitting Shops and Cancer Charities.

Knitted Knockers are free soft, comfortable 100% cotton Breast Prostheses. The hope is that ladies will find the handcrafted breast prostheses to be a comfortable, soft alternative to traditional prostheses which can be worn in all bras not just mastectomy bras.

They will also be launching “The Sticky Wicket”, a Creative/social/sporty upbeat space separately for Men & Women on the breast cancer journey.
