Known for quiet and friendly nature

THE sudden passing has taken place of Dromore man Cecil Ogle at his home at Ashfield New Houses.

He was the dearly loved son of the late John and Minnie Ogle and was a man known for his quiet and friendly disposition.

He worked for most of his working life at Milltown Bleaching and Dying Works, Donacloney, where he won the respect of both management and fellow workers.

A keen pigeon fancier, he raced birds with the Ashfield Club until recently and was also an enthusiastic gardener, with his garden admired for its wide variety of plants and vegetables.

He is survived by three sisters - Mrs Sadie McGrath, Mrs Dorothy Rodgers and Mrs Johan Teggart; brothers-in-law Jim and Paul; sister-in-law, Mrs Myrtle Ogle and several nephews and nieces. To these and all other relatives, sincere sympathy has been extended.

The funeral took place on Saturday from William Bell and Co Funeral Home, 23 Kenlis Street, Banbridge, where his minister, the Rev R McKibbon, spoke in glowing terms of Cecil’s life and hobbies.

The hymns ‘What a Friend We Have in Jesus’ and ‘Abide with Me’ were sung, with Mrs Hilda Curran presiding at the organ. Interment took place in Blackscull Methodist Churchyard.

Family flowers werer placed on the grave and donations in lieu are being sent to William Bell and Co., funeral directors, 23 Kenlis Street, Banbridge, for the Chest, Heart and Stroke Association.
