LADIES: Coleraine still searching for a win

COLERAINE Ladies are still searching for their first win of the season.

The Showgrounds side travelled to Dromore last Wednesday night, and despite putting a good display, Alison Nicholl's side couldn't take anything from the game.

Dromore set out their stalls early with a few harsh tackles and this seemed to deter the Coleraine girls.

With a number of players missing, Nicholl was forced to reshuffle her pack and this meant playing some girls out of position.

"Lauren Wade was forced to play on the left, rather than her usual up front position, and that harmed us.

"Emma Murphy and Lauren have formed a good partnership, and although Emma did have a couple of chances on goal, we just couldn't score.

"Dromore are a very physical side, and I think this put some of the younger girls off their game," said Alison.

After putting in a good shift against Loughgall last week, Nicholl had been confident that her side would collect their first points against Dromore.

"We played so well against Loughgall, who were in the Premier league last year.

"We should be beating these lesser teams, but it's early days yet, and I am confident that as the season progresses confidence will grow," said Alison.

Next up for the Ladies is Moneyslane in the Irish FA Cup on Monday, May 17 followed by Fermanagh Mallards in the league on Thursday, May 20.
