Ladies knit for charity

Local children’s charity vision4kids would like to say a sincere and massive ‘Thank-you’ to all the ladies who recently knitted and donated items to the team destined for their missions trip in Kenya.

vision4kids is a Christian based charity who have recently established several projects working with the needy children of a village called Kiambururu, located one hour north of Nairobi. The team met with many children and their families and were able to distribute Bibles, food parcels, hygiene packs and other items.

Hearing of the trip the ladies of Ballymoney rallied and knitted hundreds of items such as babies clothes, blankets, hats, socks and vests. The blankets were especially welcome as these could be used for babies to toddlers, right up to the older girls of the village and for many it was the first time that many had received something as nice and personal.

The team would like to thank everyone who donated their time, wool and work; unfortunately they do not know all your names, so thanks goes to Dale Wright, Sue and everyone connected to Sue’s Wool Shop of Church Street in the town.

God willing the team will be going out again to Kenya in 2014 and we know that the ladies will once again lend their support - your help is very much appreciated. If anyone would like to learn more about the work of vision4kids please visit www.vision4kids.org.
