Lagan Valley MP witnesses London attack

Lagan Valley MP Sir Jeffrey Donaldson has been caught up in the suspected '˜terrorist' attack at the Houses of Parliament.

Sir Jeffrey said he was walking into Parliament when the incident took place.

Praising police on Twitter, he said: “Walking into Parliament when attack occurred. Police excellent. Got us onto ground then led to safety. Terrorism will never defeat democracy.”

Scotland Yard said it was called to a firearms incident on Westminster Bridge amid reports of several people injured.

A Downing Street source declined to say where Theresa May had been during the attack, but said she had not been involved.
