Lagan Valley Rotary Club supports local charities

THE Rotary Club of Lagan Valley President’s night raised a massive £3000 with a Murder Mystery evening.

The event was at Lisburn Golf Club and raised funds for the Friends of the Cancer Centre and Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, with both charities receiving £1,500 from the Club. Immediate Past President, Debbie Roulston who nominated the two charities for her President’s night was delighted that the support from the club, their families and friends surpassed the target she had hoped for.

The donations were presented by Debbie Roulston to Des Thompson from Hearing Dogs for the Deaf and Colleen Shaw, Director of Friends of the Cancer Centre, who said: “We are delighted with the amount raised by our Rotary friends. I can’t thank them enough for their support of our hospital charity and look forward to working with them again in the future.”

Lagan Valley Rotary Club in the last year under the direction of Debbie Roulston has raised a grand total of £8,300 and also donated money to Water Aid, Praxis and Moving Mountains.
