Landlord scheme briefing
Carrickfergus councillors are to be briefed on the details of a new landlord registration scheme.
Alderman Jim Brown requested further detail on the initiative on behalf of constituents during last month’s meeting of the Environmental Services committee.
The scheme came into effect on February 25.
Under the new arrangements, all private landlords must register with the Department of Social Development as soon as possible and before February 25 2015 at the latest.

Hide AdThe scheme will collect and maintain up-to-date and accurate information on landlords and their properties.
Members were advised that although the local government authority is not responsible for administering the scheme, it will make paper applications available for landlords.
