Landrover specialists Beyond Performance 4x4 will be taking a convoy of the off-road vehicles from Carrickfergus Castle to Portrush on Sunday as part of The Big North Trail.

The fundraiser is in aid of CLIC Sargent and will also celebrate the new Land Rover Defender, which recently finished production.

The Trail departs Carrickfergus Castle car park at 11.30am on Sunday. Admission is £5 per person or £10 per car.

The event is open to any owner of any model of Land Rover and Range Rover vehicle.

Nadine Campbell, area fundraising manager for CLIC Sargent said: “We are delighted to be involved with Beyond Performance in this very unique event. Every week in Northern Ireland, two families are told the devastating news that their child has cancer. Treatments starts immediately and the impact both financially and emotionally is huge for any family. All money raised from this event will go towards families who are going through this journey.

“Last year, we supported more than 280 children and young people with cancer, and their families, from Northern Ireland.

“We gave nearly 200 grants, to a value of over £39,000, to help families deal with the financial impact of cancer.”
