The incident came to light at The Diamond, Bushmills, on August 23 when Gary Edwards (36), also had no seat belt on. At Coleraine Court, District Judge Liam McNally told Edwards, of Enler Park Central, Dundonald, it appeared as if the defendant had been dealt with leniently in the past.

He imposed a four months jail term, suspended for two years; banned the defendant from the road for 18 months and fined him £100.
