Larne businesses deliver world class service

The WorldHost programme is an internationally recognised customer service programme which aims to improve the standard of customer service, generating higher visitor numbers and boosting the local economy.

Councillor Morrow said: “Good customer service is the lifeblood of any business. With Northern Ireland attracting more visitors than ever before, all businesses need to maintain the highest levels of customer service to enhance ourreputation, encourage others to come and visit and build our economy.

“Larne will be welcoming the Giro d’Italia to the borough and The Gobbins will be opening in late summer, so there will be many new visitors to our local businesses.”

John Shannon, chairman of Larne Traders Forum, joined the Mayor to present the certificates. He congratulated all those being awarded and thanked them for their contribution towards ensuring that visitors to the Larne area receive the very best Northern Ireland welcome and service.

Mr Shannon said: “We are delighted that local businesses are prepared to go the extra mile in undertaking Customer Service training to ensure they are providing the very highest standards of service to both visitors to the region and to your local customers. This will help generate higher visitor numbers in the future which will be a great economic benefit not only to individual businesses, but to Larne, Mid and East Antrim and the Northern Ireland economy as a whole.”

WorldHost trainer Heather Major also added her congratulations. “The Department for Employment and Learning is subsidising the course cost to help businesses avail of the training which is being delivered in partnership with the Northern Ireland Tourist Board and People 1st. The funding will be available until the end of March 2014 so I would encourage local businesses who have not yet taken part in the programme to consider doing so”.
