Larne Council and church in £26k land deal

Larne Borough Council has agreed to sell just over half-an-acre of ground to St Cedma’s Parish Church for £26,000.

The fee, set by the District Valuer, is said to reflect reduced market prices and is lower than that first quoted to the parish in 2008 for the site next to the war memorial, when it was valued at £60,000.

The council has also agreed to grant St Cedma’s right-of-way assess to the site.

Meanwhile, Alderman Roy Beggs has asked that a current valuation be sought for an area of land at Glenville Park in Glynn.
