In a Facebook post, the Factory Community Forum Response Network wrote: "Massive thanks to our two diehard Larne fans, Gary Peoples and Lyn Kernohan who kitted themselves out in Ballymena FC strips on Saturday to deliver some hot meals to the elderly around Boyne Square.

"This fundraiser brought in an amazing £1593. Thank you to everyone who donated towards this great project."

In a similar initiative last month, Manchester United supporters Alan Withers and Scott Geoghegan, also from Larne, wore Liverpool FC tops while delivering hot meals in the Antiville area of the town.

Meanwhile, the Community Response Network highlighted that it will be operating on a "request only" basis from next week.
