Larne ghost hunters aim to boost charities

East Coast Paranormal Society is comprised of nine members, who all share a passion for investigating things that go bump in the night.

Deploying state-of-the-art scientific equipment including high-definition night-vision cameras and voice recorders, the group strives to get to the bottom reports of possible paranormal activity throughout the borough and beyond.

ECPS has already carried out investigations at a number of locations, including Ballyboley Forest, the Eagle Bar, and the old Curran Court building.

And the band of intrepid investigators now plan to produce and sell DVD’s featuring footage of their activities, with proceeds being donated to various good causes.

Paul Black, co-founder of ECPS told the Larne Times: “Our team is made up of people with various skills, experiences and beliefs.

“But one thing we all have in common is our passion for the paranormal.

“We have captured some very interesting paranormal activities including disembodied voices, moving furniture, footsteps and unexplainable shadows.

“By carrying out these investigations, we hope to provide answers, comfort and resolution for our clients.

“We do not charge a fee for our services, and as dedicated group of amateurs who are self-funded, we are under no pressure whatsoever to produce results .

“Therefore, we have no reason to fabricate or fake any evidence that we collect.”

The team is now hoping to look into reports of ghostly goings-on at Larne Borough Council’s Carnegie Building, and also has plans to hold investigations further afield, including Dunluce Castle and Rathlin Island.
