Larne residents react angrily to ‘cringe-worthy’ BBC documentary

There has been a huge public backlash to a televised documentary focusing on life in Larne.

‘I Love Larne’, part of the True North series, was screened on Monday night on BBC One Northern Ireland.

But before the programme had even finished, outraged Larne people had taken to social media to express their “disgust” at what is being branded a “cringe-worthy” and “misleading” representation of the town.

At one point shortly after the show had aired, ‘Larne’ was the seventh most talked about topic trending on Twitter in the UK.
