Larne Rotarians spring into action

THE Rotary Club of Larne is hoping that residents and visitors alike are enjoying the wonderful display of purple crocuses at the Antiville roundabout.

The club would like to thank all those who contribute to its work in the borough and throughout the world.

A spokesperson said: “We wish to draw the public’s attention to the Rotary logo planted out in purple crocuses, and at the same time inform them of this project.

“Rotary has raised in excess of $6,000 in the eradication of polio in India this year and are very close to achieving similar success in Nigeria, Pakistan and Afghanistan with continued help from the public.

“The reason the rotary logo is planted out in purple crocuses is that when the children are immunised, their little finger is dipped in a purple dye, highlighting that the child has received its immunisation.

“We hope that when you look at this display you will not only enjoy it, but will also understand the reasoning behind this project.”
