Last call for volunteer award nominations

The 2014 Mayor’s Awards for Volunteering scheme closing date for nominations is Friday March 21.

The awards night will see nominated volunteers from the city of Lisburn area join together in a gala evening to be held in June 2014.

The Mayor of Lisburn, Councillor Margaret Tolerton, said: “If you have been meaning to nominate a volunteer or volunteering group that you think deserves recognition, and haven’t done so yet, please make sure you get your completed application form in before the closing date of Friday March 21.”

There are a total of five categories for nominations:

1. Adult Volunteer of the Year Award 2. Young Volunteer of the Year Award 3. Supporting Volunteering Award (Large Group) 4. Supporting Volunteering Award (Small Group) 5. Newcomer Award (Large or Small Group)

Lisburn City Council and its partner organisations: South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust, Volunteer Now and the South Eastern Education and Library Board, would like to invite nominations for any of the above categories.

Nominations for each of the award categories will be accepted from individuals, community/voluntary and statutory representatives.
