Last chance to have your say on BIDs scheme

The Ballymena Business Improvement District (BID) draft plan has been delivered to every business in the town.

A 14-strong team of people drawn from the local commercial sector, have been visiting retailers and other affected organisations over the past few weeks to discuss the business plan and get vital feedback.

The draft plan covers issues such as marketing, promotions and events; accessibility; support for town businesses; improving safety and security; improving the physical environment and an innovation fund.

These key themes and subsequent actions reflect what Ballymena business people said would help improve the town and make it prosper.

Peter Day, BID project Manager, urged local business people to take the time to provide feedback on the priorities laid out in the plan.

He said: “This draft plan is also available to view on our website.

“ I ask you to read the plan and feed back your views on the ideas and suggestions proposed.

“We must be sure that we have captured the needs and priorities of the local business community accurately.”

The closing date for comments and suggestions is 23rd January.

A final Business Improvement District Plan will be developed to reflect any additional comments received and this then will be out to local businesses by 9th February.

The BID Draft Summary Plan is available to view or download at www.ballymenabid.com or more hard copies can be picked up from the BID Office.

Comments can be emailed to Peter at [email protected] or by telephone on 07712839767.
