Last Saturday demonstration

THE Royal Black Institution will hold parades in six towns across Northern Ireland on Saturday, August 27.

Approximately 17,000 members of the Institution will parade in Antrim, Ballygawley, Comber, Donemana, Limavady and Newry.

The demonstration in Limavady will have 3,000 members of the Royal Black Institution on parade, from 34 preceptories representing districts in Coleraine, Raphoe, South Londonderry and City of Londonderry. The parade was last held in Limavady in 2004.

Thirty two bands will accompany the parade which begins at mid-day and will go via Church Street, Ballyclose Street, Lower Main Street, Linenhall Street, Catherine Street and Roemill Road.

The platform proceedings are at 2pm and the chairman will be Trevor Kyle, County Grand Master. The principal speaker will be Rev. Nigel Reid and the service of worship will be conducted by Rev. J.J. Andrews.
