Latest police news from Ballymoney

Police arrested a 37 year old on suspicion of a sectarian hate crime on Monday 26 May. The arrest was made after a house in Trinity Drive was attacked, with windows broken and a door damaged. No one was injured as a result of the attack on the house. Police enquiries into the matter are continuing.

Police arrested a 50 year old man and 22 year old man on suspicion of common assault and criminal damage following an incident in Dunloy in the early hours of Thursday 29 May. The arrests were after a report that two men came to a house and attacked those inside. The occupants of the house were not seriously injured as a result. The two men were released on police bail as the enquiry continues.

Police are investigating criminal damage caused to a classic car after a garage was broken into in Stranocum. The damage, which was reported to police on Thursday 29 May, involved paint being poured over the car, causing around £2,000 of damage. Police enquiries into the incident are continuing.

Police arrested a 22 year old man on suspicion of drink driving after a car was stopped on the Kilraughts Road in the early hours of Sunday 01 June. The man was held by police overnight and charged in the morning.
