Latest police news from Ballymoney and Moyle

Police arrested a 41 year old man from Bushmills on suspicion of theft from a shop in the village at the start of May. The man was later charged to North Antrim Magistrates Court.

Police received a report of a burglary at a vacant house on the Claudy Road, Cushendun on Wednesday 28 May. A legally held shotgun is thought to have been stolen during the break in along with copper piping and a copper tank. Police are appealing for anyone with information on the incident to contact them on the 101 number.

Police arrested a 26 year old man on suspicion of possession of class B drugs and possession of class B drugs with intent to supply on Friday 30 May. The arrest followed the search of a house in the Whitehall Place area of Ballycastle.

Police are investigating a report that a storage box on a caravan parked in a site on Clare Road, Ballycastle was broken into. The incident is thought to have happened between Saturday 24 May and Friday 30 May. A electric golf trolley and a Karcher power washer were taken from the box.

Police believe that a satchel and a handbag were stolen from a car parked outside Ballintoy Church on the evening of Saturday 31 May. The theft is believed to have happened between 8.30pm and 9pm when a car door was left open.

In a second incident, a car was broken into whilst parked outside Ballintoy Church on Sunday 01 June. The lock of the boot was damaged and a purse containing a small sum of money was stolen from the vehicle. Police believe the two incidents may been linked are are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
