Latest: Road crash girl Emma’s funeral on Saturday

The funeral of the young woman who died as a result of a road traffic collision on the Creamery Road in Coleraine on Wednesday morning will be held on Saturday.

The funeral service for 17-year-old Emma Scott, from Rusky Park, Aghadowey, will be held at Killykergan Gospel Hall in Garvagh at 1pm.

Emma lost her life when her red Mini was involved in a collision with a silver Audi A4 shortly after 11am on Wednesday.

Following her funeral she will be buried at Coleraine cemetery.

Emma is survived by her parents Richard and Sally, sister Victoria and brother Christopher. She was also the grandaughter of George and Jean and Sydney and Lena.

A male and a female, who were both travelling in the Audi A4, were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment after the incident but their injuries were not life threatening.

Police want to hear from witnesses to the collision.

Inspector Alison Ferguson said: “We continue to appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who was travelling on the Creamery Road around the time of the collision to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Steeple Police Station or local Police at Coleraine Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.”
