LATEST - robbery at Ballycastle shop

Police are appealing for information following robbery at commercial premises in the Moyle Road area of Ballycastle on Sunday, 26 October.

Commenting on the incident Chief Inspector Catherine Magee said: “At approximately 8.00pm an unknown man, who had his face covered with a T-shirt entered the shop and pushed a female member of staff and demanded that she open one of the tills.

“The man then pushed a second female member of staff and demanded that she open the tills also.

“The man made off with a quantity of cigarettes. He did not get any money from the tills.

“The two females were not injured during this incident, however they were left very badly shaken.

“I would ask anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity around this vicinity or who has information to contact Detectives at Coleraine on the non emergency number 101.

“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
