LATEST: South Derry truck driver dies in crash in Co Westmeath
A lorry driver from Desertmartin is understood to have died in a single-vehicle crash in County Westmeath.
The man in his 40s was killed when the truck he was driving left the N52 road between Mullingar and Delvin in the townland of Williamstown at about 12.30pm on Thursday afternoon.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Mullingar Regional Hospital.
The road was closed pending a Garda technical examination of the scene, and local diversions were put in place.
