Latest: Two men due in court over £400,000 cannabis factory near Magherafelt

Two men aged 40 and 50 have been charged with a range of offences over a major cannabis haul uncovered near Magherafelt.

The charges include cultivating cannabis, possession of class B drugs and possession of class B drugs with intent to supply as well as the offence of abstracting electricity.

They follow the seizure of cannabis, with a value in excess of £400,000, from a cannabis factory in Carricknakielt Lane, Magherafelt on Tuesday 12th May.

The 50 year old man has also been charged with offences including cultivating cannabis, possessing class B drugs, possessing class B drugs with intent to supply and abstracting electricity in connection with the discovery of a significant cannabis factory in the Mullanmore Road area of Carrickmore on 17th September 2014.

The men are expected to appear at Londonderry Magistrates court on Thursday morning.

As is usual procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
