Laurelhill celebrates pupils’ successes

Following on from their A Level results recently, pupils from the Laurelhill Community College have once again been celebrating academic success.

Principal, Mr James Martin stated proudly, “GCSE results day is a really important day in the Year 12 school calendar and has a significant bearing on a student’s immediate choices.

“I would like to take this opportunity to once again congratulate all our Year 12 pupils on their results, and say a huge thank you to all staff and parents for their continued support.

“We look forward to welcoming both new and returning pupils back into Laurelhill Community College Sixth Form.”

There have been a number of pupils who are to be congratulated on their results; Jordan Moore achieved a fantastic set of results gaining 1 A*, 4 A grades and 3 B grades at GCSE level. Kenza Jamal achieved 1 A*, 3 A grades, 3 B grades and 1 C and Katie Table achieved 6 A grades and 3 B grades.

“Sarah Preston also achieved an impressive set of results with 1 A*, 4 A grades, and 3 B grades at GCSE level, and in addition achieved a Distinction in BTEC Performing Arts Twilight course as part of the Lisburn Area Learning Community at Laurelhill.

“With some fantastic subjects on offer achieving outstanding success within the college many of Laurelhill’s students really do have cause for celebration; 100% of GCSE Art students achieved, 88% of GCSE Business Studies achieved A* - C and 76% of GCSE Design and Technology students also achieved A*-C.

“The College wishes all of our students every success in whichever path they choose and for those pupils entering Year 8 and Year 13 at Laurelhill Community College, we look forward to seeing you Friday 28th August 2015.”
