Laurelhill ‘highlycommended’ atgarden competition

THIS year’s Garden Competition at Hillsborough saw six schools enter. The theme was Titanic and Laurelhill Community College pupils from 10H2 worked hard to produce a fantastic garden built to give the feeling of being on the deck.

They went to the Ulster Folk Museum to learn willow weaving and worked hard at school making the structure. Enthusiastic pupils from Year Eight were also involved – they painted the spectacular Belfast mural.

The judges thought their planting was very good and they received a ‘Highly Commended’ Award.
