Lauren to cut hair in friends’ memory

A young woman from the North West will bravely abandon her flowing locks to the coiffeur next week in memory of two friends she lost to cancer in the last year.

Lauren Brennan, aged 16, a pupil at Limavady Grammar school, will be cutting off her hair in Colum Cooke’s hairdressing salon on the Trench Road in memory of Leah Whyte and Kathy Sheerin.

The hair will be donated along with sponsorship monies to the Little Princess Trust.

Lauren has wanted to do something to raise awareness of and support those who are working to provide services to those with cancer.

Her hair will be used to make a wig for a child who has lost their hair through cancer treatment and is a way for her to make a positive contribution to those affected by the disease.
