Lavin Hall to open

FOUR years after the original Lavin Orange Hall was burned to the ground, a new hall in its place is set to re-open.

Firebugs torched the hall on the Twelfth morning back in 2006.

The new Lavin Orange Hall, home to McCartney’s True Blues LOL 913 will host a dedication on May 21, marking the reopening of the facility.

Grange Master Robert Saulters will be on hand to officially open the hall at 7pm before a parade through the local area at 8pm.

James Murphy, lodge secretary, said: “Sisters and brethren will assemble in a field beside the hall in preparation for the parade of the local area and there will be ample car parking space in a field beside the hall.”

The nights proceedings will wind up with a dance on the new maple floor from 10pm. Everyone is invited to the historic occasion by the lodge which is looking forward to meeting in its new home.
