Learning about YFC

Pupils from a number of different schools enjoyed an exciting and educational day of workshops recently thanks to Glarryford Young Farmers’ Club (YFC).

Glarryford YFC is participating in the Community Integration project which is supported through the European Union’s PEACE III Programme and is managed for the Special EU Programmes Body by the North East PEACE III Partnership.

The project involved Primary 7 pupils from Clough, Cloughmills and St. Brigid’s Primary Schools who were invited to attend the event at Glarryford Farmers’ Hall.

Following a few ‘ice breaker’ games, pupils participated in various workshops including stock judging, tractor handling, culture and sport.

The final workshop of the day involved a multi-cultural band called Beyond Skins. The musicians included people from different countries throughout the world including Poland, Uganda, Slovakia, and India.

Robyn McCormick, of Glarryford YFC, said: “This was a thoroughly enjoyable day for all who were involved.

“Thanks must go to the pupils, parents, teachers and principals of Clough, Cloughmills and St. Brigid’s Primary Schools.”
