Leatham’s Longstone Street store, meanwhile, is a finalist in the ‘Under 1500 Sq Ft’ category and is competing for Mace’s Store of the Year award.

Musgrave Retail Partners organises the annual gala ball event for its 250 independent retailers in Northern Ireland across the SuperValu, Centra and Mace brands.

Finalists are selected using an independent audit of all stores, each facing “a rigorous process of checks and evaluations”.

Finalists in each retail brand go head to head on the night with the chance to be crowned Gold, Silver or Bronze winner in each of their categories before competing for the coveted title of ‘Store of the Year’. One store , opened before last October, will take home a ‘Newcomer’ prize
