Leave us alone!

A BALLYMONEY woman who claims to have been the target of yobs for the past 20 years has pleaded to be left alone following more attacks on her property recently.

Sandra Parkhill told the Times her life has become a living hell at the hands of thugs who have relentlessly targeted her Hamilton Park home for two decades.

Windows have been smashed on a regular basis, the living room and her bedroom windows broken in an early morning attack just over a fortnight ago.

Since then the shattered panes have been boarded up with the family facing costs of 80 to replace each one.

The situation has got so bad that Mrs Parkhill - who lives at the house with her 63-year-old husband and three of their four children - is currently off work and is on medication to cope with the stress.

"I contacted the police but they can't do anything as they don't know who is doing it," said Mrs Parkhill (58).

"I can't afford to keep replacing windows, it isn't fair."

Mrs Parkhill said she has no idea why her house is being singled out and pointed the finger of blame at youths.

However, despite the campaign of harassment Mrs Parkhill has vowed to remain in the area.

"I won't be going, I don't want to leave my home," she said.

"I have good neighbours and I am from the area.

"I just want to be left alone."

Mrs Parkhill said a neighbour's window was also broken recently. She said a young mother lives in the house with her child.

A spokesperson for Glebeside Community Association condemned the attacks adding that he does not believe there is an anti-social problem in the area.
