Lecture series

CRAIGAVON Museum's local history lecture series returns this month with lectures focusing on the history of Lurgan and years gone by.

The series begins at Waterside House, Oxford Island on Saturday, March 6, with the first lecture being delivered by Dr Frank McCorry who will focus on the settlement of Lurgan.

This will be followed by an informative lecture on the history of the Shankill Parish archives on Saturday, March 13, by Mr Sammy Malcolm.

On Saturday, March 20, Mr Kieran Clenndinning will give an informative talk on Lurgan in the 17th Century.

Following the lectures, visitors will be given a short tour of the museum library outlining the range of resources they hold, including a range of material on the history of Lurgan, Portadown and the surrounding areas.

All of the lectures will begin at 11am, and last for approximately one hour. Admission is free, although booking in advance is essential as places are limited.
