Mrs Dobson continued: “It was fantastic to see so many people coming along to support the second annual festival.

“I was honoured to host the launch event for this year’s festival at Stormont back in May.

“On that evening the acts were unveiled and they promised us an excellent second festival and they certainly didn’t disappoint.

“It was great to get the chance to chat with so many local people coming along to enjoy the music and atmosphere as well as people and families who had travelled to Banbridge especially to attend.

“The economic impact on the town will also provide a very welcome boost to both the hospitality and retail sectors.

“I also commend the organisers and festival goers for their fantastic support for the charity Macmillan Cancer Support.

“My sister Belinda and I took some time to help collect for them on the night and the support was overwhelming and I know will make a real difference.

“We can now all look forward to the third annual Linenfields festival next year.”
