The United Parish of St. Patrick’s Whitehead and St John’s Islandmagee is hosting the Lenten Lunches.

Commencing March 1, they will continue each Wednesday in the run up to Easter at St Patrick’s Parochial Hall from 12 noon until 2.00pm.

The programme has been operating for a decade with £2,800 - £400 to each of the good causes supported - raised on each of the past three years.

For 2017 the charities in line to benefit are: Northern Ireland Children to Lapland and Days to Remember Trust, RNLI, Northern Ireland Leukaemia Research Fund, Northern Ireland Hospice, Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke, Down’s Syndrome Association and Cancer Research.

Extending an invitation for all in the community to attend the lunches, the organisers also thanked all the eight business sponsors.
