Lest we forget... Lisburn remembers the fallen

The people of Lisburn paused to remember the fallen of two world wars and subsequent conflicts at the Armistice Day Ceremony held at Lisburn War Memorial on Friday, November 11.

Gordon Rogan, Chairman of Lisburn Branch of the Royal British Legion, gave the exhortation, while the Last Post and Reveille was played by bugler Cpl Jake Pugsley from 2nd Battalion, The Rifles.

Among those who attended the event were Armed Forces personnel, ex-servicemen and women, RBL representatives, local politicians and members of the public.

Meanwhile, members of the Armed Forces and MOD staff attended a Service of Remembrance at the Garrison Church in Thiepval Barracks, Lisburn on November 11.

The Service was led by Senior Chaplain, Colonel Alex Bennett with wreaths laid by the Commander of 38 (Irish) Brigade Brigadier Andrew Roe and Commanding Officer of the NI Garrison Support Unit Colonel Frank Cannon.

The Last Post was sounded by Rifleman Keiron Rowley of 2 Rifles.
