Lewis Fastravel Duke Street plan

LEWIS Fastravel has applied for permission to erect new alterations to the shop front of the former Co-Operative Travel agency on Duke Street in the Waterside.

The application is for “proposed alterations to shop front” at the premises at 98 Duke Street.

Over two year’s ago staff at Co-operative Travel in Duke Street told the Sentinel the agency was to close due to the expiry of the lease on the building.

A travel agency has been on site on Duke Street since 1972. It was originally run by Lewis Fast Travel, but Co-operative Travel took over the premises in 1995 before closure.
