LGBT support group to be formed in Ballymena

A new support and social group catering for lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender people in the Ballymena area is to be formed.

The Rainbow Project, working in partnership with the Together For You Project; funded by the Big Lottery Fund, are supporting the development of the peer support and networking group.

The group will meet once a month from 7pm – 9.30pm and is open to anyone from the area who identify as LGB&/T.

It will offer a safe space to meet other people socially and the opportunity to take part in programmes, workshops and other activities delivered by The Rainbow Project and other community/statutory/voluntary organisations.

The group is having a ‘Night with the Peelers’ on Thursday, December 10 from 7pm-9pm in N-Gage (Wellington Street, Ballymena).

This evening will give people the opportunity to visit the centre, find out information on the group and have a chat with staff from The Rainbow Project and local PSNI officers while enjoying a slice of pizza.

If you are interested in helping to support the development of these groups or would like an opportunity to meet other LGB&/T people, then make contact with Nuala on 02890 319030 or via [email protected]
