Libraries NI have written to Council to inform members that a consultation has begun on a proposed reduction in opening hours of Ballymena Central and Carrickfergus library from 50 hours to 45 hours per week.

The June Council meeting was told that a response to the consultation would be brought to their July meeting for consideration “to ensure a robust consultation response is submitted by Council” before the July 17 deadline.
