Library hosts ‘Gaelic World’ talk

LISBURN City Library will be hosting a talk on The Gaelic World on Wednesday March 14 at 7.30pm.

During this talk Gordon McCoy (inset), from the ULTACH Trust, will trace the history and contemporary state of the Gaelic languages, from their beginnings in Ireland, to their development in the Isle of Man, Scotland, and Canada.

The word Ultach means ‘person from Ulster’ and the principal aim of the ULTACH Trust is to promote the Irish language throughout the entire community of Northern Ireland, with a core objective being to encourage cross-community involvement in the language.

Admission to this talk is free and is open to everyone but booking is essential.

To reserve a place contact Lisburn City Library (23 Linenhall Street, BT28 1FJ) on 9263 3350
