Library presented with a piece of artwork

Lisburn City Library will be presented with a piece of artwork called Symbols of the Heart on Tuesday (June 17) at 6.30pm.

The artwork has been produced by Community Groups and reflects issues around cultural diversity. This is part of a larger project funded through the Lisburn and Castlereagh PEACE III programme, supported by the SEUPB and delivered by the Workers’ Educational Association (WEA).

The presentation is part of a series of events organised by Libraries NI to celebrate Community Relations Week 2014, which is coordinated by the Community Relations Council and takes place from June 16 – 22.

Irene Knox, Chief Executive of Libraries NI explains: “The theme for Community Relations Week this year is Building a United Community.Building anything of lasting value requires a strong foundation and Libraries NI is proud to host events that encourage communities to work together .”
