Life For You 2010 – ten days to go!

THE sweet tones of our local Toon accent will soon be heard on the airwaves again as there is now just 10 days to go until this year's Baptist broadcast weekend – it all starts on Friday 30th April at 8am with Alastair Smith's Breakfast Show where, you'll know if you've ever tuned in before, anything can happen.

The full range of programmes is on offer again on 105.3fm and online at www.ballymoneybaptistchurch.org with a special invitation on Saturday night to come along to the church on the Ballymena line and join in as they broadcast a "Praise and Testimony" programme at 7pm. Lots of local Christian people are taking part from around our churches and they all have the same goal – to tell the message of salvation, the story of Jesus Christ. Tune in and see who you know!

One common misconception about Baptists is that they only baptise adults. This isn't the case – the only requirement for baptism in our local Baptist church is that the person is a born-again believer and is living a life of loving dedication to God. The ages of members in the church, therefore, ranges from over 80 to just 13 years old. So quite a few of the programmes are planned and hosted by the young members of the church. You can tune in and hear from them in their three evening "Youth Zone" slots – Friday night at 9pm is taken by the Youth Club – they meet every Friday in Dalriada Sports Hall from 8pm until 10pm; Saturday night at 9pm is hosted by the Bible Class who meet every Sunday morning at 10.15 until 11.15am and Sunday night at 9pm is the Youth Fellowship, which meets on alternate Sunday evenings in the church from 8pm until 9.45pm. All secondary school aged pupils are welcome to come along and join in these groups. But why not tune in to 105.3fm over the Bank Holiday weekend and be encouraged by some young people who are a credit to our town?

One of the most popular shows from last year will be re-visited as a panel will try to answer some of the harder questions that are posed to Christians. Paul McFarland, one of the church's outreach workers, will be busy this week asking local residents what they would want to ask God "If you could ask God one question." Tune in at 11pm on Friday and Saturday to hear if they can explain what God says about these things in his Word. Remember you can also phone in with further questions during that and any other programme. You can also ring in for a request or a dedication – ring 028 2766 6452 or text 07513888700.

You should be receiving your hand-delivered Life For You brochure at the weekend which outlines all the programmes this year and gives the contact details as well as a short message from Colin Adams, the pastor. The members and friends of Ballymoney Baptist invite you to join them for the Bank Holiday weekend on 105.3fm as they present the life-changing news of Jesus Christ, the one and only Saviour of the world.
