Life of Lurgan doctor celebrated
The Community Outreach Group will celebrate the life of a renowned Lurgan doctor on Wednesday, March 25.
Dr Mary Goss will give a presentation on one of Lurgan’s most illustrious sons, the late Dr James Deeny, whose pioneeing work in the field of public health has left a legacy which, to this day, is unsurpassed in its achievement. Dr James Deeny is particularly renowned for his work in treating tuberculosis and the establishment of preventive medicine programmes - both in his Lurgan practice and with the World Health Organisation.
Everyone is welcome to Wednesday’s meeting, which starts at 8pm in St Peter’s Parish Hall, and light refreshments will be served.
