Following a search, the lifeboat crew located the man, who had a suspected broken ankle, and two crew members administer first aid. A Coastguard team from Ballycastle was also transferred to the area and a rescue helicopter from Preswick was requested to airlift the casualty due to his injuries and location.

A Paramedic was winched to the scene, however due to another emergency off the Donegal Coast the helicopter had to immediately recover their winch-man and assist in the other emergency.
