Limavady man disorderly at Twelfth

Kyle Moore (23), of Coolessan Walk, is charged with disorderly behaviour and resisting police. He was on bail accused of other offences at the time of the alleged incident.

The court heard that police were conducting duties during the Twelfth celebrations in Limavady when their attention was drawn to Moore, who was intoxicated and appeared to be agitated.

He was asked to leave the area on a number of occasions.

Officers became aware the defendant was subject to a number of bail conditions including a ban on consuming alcohol.

Moore was arrested and it is alleged he became abusive towards police, calling them scumbags.

He was further accused of giving abuse to other members of the public.

Opposing bail, an investigating officer told the court police had concerns Moore continued to commit offences while on bail.

Defence solicitor Don Mahoney said his client has been on bail for several months and up until recently had behaved impeccably.

Refusing bail, District Judge John Meehan said Moore had flagrantly breached conditions in the past and there was a risk of further offences.

The defendant will appear in court again via videolink on July 28.
