Limavavady United make audacious Tevez offer

LIMAVADY United have made an audacious bid to lure Carlos Tevez to the Showgrounds.

In a bold move United Vice Chairman David Brewster has formally offered to take Tevez on loan.

The bid follows Roberto Mancini’s suggestion that the controversial Argentine may never play for the club again after a ‘misunderstanding’ in which he appeared to refuse to come on as a substitute against Bayern Munich.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Executive of Manchester City Football Club, Mr Brewster offered to take Tevez on loan for the remainder of the season or until he was transferred.

This would afford him the opportunity of playing regular football without the risk of being cup tied for the Champions League.

The letter also makes clear that the proposed move would depend on City’s willingness to continue to pay Tevez’s wages in return for the conditioning and fitness that regular football in the IFA Championship would bring prior to any future transfer.

Mr Brewster said the club was awaiting a response to the offer. If successful the stunning move would mark the biggest coup for County Londonderry football club since George Best lined out for Tobermore.
