Linden scoops top award

LINDEN Allen of Allen Logistics in Moira has been voted Transport Personality of the Year 2012 at the annual Export & Freight Transport & Logistics Awards.

A surprised and delighted Linden was presented with the much coveted award by Frank Nieuwenhuys, Freight Commercial Manager, UK and Republic of Ireland at sponsors Stena Line Freight, during a glittering ceremony at the Ramada Hotel in Belfast.

The VIP gathering heard Linden described as “a man with vision and an entrepreneurial flare that is often lacking in industry these days, a man who has masterfully applied his people skills to build sound relationships, underpinned by his proven and unquestionable business acumen.”

Linden has been in business for almost five decades and as well as offering a friendly and efficient service his approach towards everyone has been a significant part of his success.

His ability to combine customer focused values of the highest level with unending drive, motivation and passion for the industry have seen him and his company not only succeed in challenging times, but grow and prosper.

His leadership qualities are evident in everything he is involved in and the expanding client base of his company is testament to his desire to excel in everything he does.

Linden has devoted almost all of his working life to the industry. He has successfully managed his organisation through the transition from a “haulier” to a company that can consider itself amongst the best Logistics Service providers in its class.

As one of those who nominated him for this category, wrote: “A marvellous personality, I cannot think of anyone else who is more deserving of this award than Linden Allen of Allen Logistics.”

The annual Awards is organised by the Hillsborough based publishers of Export & Freight magazine, 4Square Media, and is now widely regarded as the premier event in the Irish Transport & Logistics calendar, attracting entries, support and sponsorship from all the leading players in the industry.

There were 16 categories in all, ranging from Haulier of the Year and Irish Sea Shipping Line to Transport Manager of the Year and Driver of the Year.
