Linfield supporters' bus hit by stones

A window of the Linfield Finaghy Supporters' Club bus was smashed on Saturday after three stones were thrown at it on the Cliftonville Road, Belfast.

The bus was transporting members back home following Linfield’s Irish Cup win over Cliftonville at Solitude.

The Secretary of Linfield Finaghy Supporter’s Club said nobody was hurt but one of their older members was given a bit of a fright.

He said: “Three stones were thrown at the bus about half way up the Cliftonville Road.

“The window just behind the driver was broke but only the outside glass.

“No-one was hurt but our oldest member, who is 87, sits there and I think it gave him a bit of a scare.

“The driver reported the incident to the police.”
