Lisa says goodbye to Kilcranny House

KILCRANNY House said goodbye to one of its staff this week as volunteer Lisa Pepe returned to USA after a year's work with the project.

Graduate Lisa from New York has spent the last year volunteering at Kilcranny - despite only intending to stay for six months.

“I came over last April just after I graduated after I discovered Kilcranny House on a website Volunteers for Peace,” she told the Times.

“”i have been able to experience so many different things including garden work, youth work, helping to organise Summer Days the arts and cultural festival here, and most recently helping to organise a Good Relations conference.

“Kilcranny has given me so many different opportunities and I got to try everything.

“Everyone here has been so overwhelmingly positive and the people here are amazing. I have been all over the north coast and also took a road trip down the west of Ireland.

“I’m actually quite nervous about returning to New York after the peace and tranquillity of Kilcranny but I really do miss New York too.

“I just want to thank everyone at Kilcranny House for giving me one of the most amazing opportunities of my life and I can’t wait to come back and visit,” said Lisa.
